Right now DoTA 2 is one of the most played games on Steam but it’s actually still in beta, when the game gets released later on the game will be free-to-play and you don’t have to pay anything in order to get access to the whole game experience. The problem a lot of gamers have right now is that they can’t get their hands on a Dota 2 beta key, they’re not that hard to get, all you need is a bit of information, hopefully I will help you guys with that because in this post I will show you a few ways to get a Dota 2 beta key invite.
I would also recommend you check out our Dota 2 merchandise list where we collected the best t-shirts, toys and posters of Dota 2 into one fancy list, you can find the post by following this link, Dota 2 merchandise.
Take the Valve DoTA 2 Survey (free)
First things first, you need Steam and a steam account of course, if you don’t have that make sure you download Steam and get a account. After you done that head over to this link; Dota 2 Survey. You should finish the survey and answer the questions the best way possible. After that all you can do is wait for Valve to hand you Dota 2 key, they don’t give everyone a key though, making this method very flawed. But it’s still worth doing and only takes a few minutes.
Buying a Dota 2 Key (less then $5)
In the Official Dota 2 store over at Valve you can buy a beta key for $40 which is a total rip-off, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of sellers who sell beta keys for way less. First you need to head over to Ebay.com, and then just search for “Dota 2 beta key” or just “Dota 2“, then sort the search by “Lowest price first” and then make Ebay just show “Buy now” auctions. There should be plenty of sellers selling a key for just $1, which will save you around $39 compared if you bought it in the Valve Store. You will need a Ebay account in order to buy on Ebay, but getting a account is fast and free, also most sellers accept Paypal which makes the transaction very smooth.
Just pick a seller that have a lot of good feedback from past buyers, and buy from that seller. I got my key for $1 in just a few hours.
Buy a Dota 2 Key on Steam Community Market (less then $1)
The community market on Steam is great for getting items for some of the games on Steam, TF2 and Dota 2 for example, the community market is driven by the gamers on Steam, people can put their items for sale on the market and hope people will buy them, and there’s plenty of Dota 2 invites on the market, you can easily get one for less then $0,20, making this the most effective and one of the cheapest ways of getting a invite key (apart from the free methods) You pay for the invite key on the market with your Steam Wallet, so you need to have some cash on your steam account, but you can easily fill your account with some funds via a credit card or paypal. A alternative is to sell a few items on the community market (TF2 and Dota items for example) and then buy the Dota 2 invite with the money that your earned from selling your items.
Ask a DoTA 2 gamer for a invite (free)
Many of the ones who own the game already gets a bunch of beta invites that they can send to who every they want, ask a friend, clan mate or a stranger if you could have a invite, if they have a bunch laying around I bet they will give you one. Just make sure not to nag and spam people asking for a invite, then you will never get your hands on Dota 2, just be polite and I’m sure your fellow gamers will understand your problem.
Those are the ways I would recommend anyone who wants a DoTA 2 beta key, I know there’s other methods and other ways but in my opinion these are the methods that are worth doing.
I hope you get your hands on a key soon! Good luck.
