I been a huge fan of the Diablo series for many years now, I played Diablo 2 like crazy as a kid, and when the third game of the series was released for PC I played that game a huge deal also, not near my kid madness but still a quite a lot. And not that long ago Diablo 3 was released for console, and even though I had played the game and got pretty bored of it I decided to give it ago on the console also (on the PS3) and I was amazed of how much fun I had really, I even had more fun then I had when I played the game on the PC years ago, and in this post I will talk about why you should play D3 on a console and why I think it’s a better experience to do so.
This is my main reason really, it’s quite hard to find great offline co-op games that you can play with your friends out there, so I got real excited when it turned out that D3 has co-op for up to 4 players on one screen. The fact that you can play together with people on the same screen makes the game a completely different experience for me
And Blizzard has solved many of the common co-op problems perfectly, and you notice how much work they put into the console version to make it a great co-op experience. The game still has some co-op problems of course, with the biggest one being that there’s a lot of stuff going on when there’s more then one person on the screen which cause mass-confusing from time to time, and with 4 players on the screen madness breaks loose sometimes because of all the effects and flashes going on on the screen, but for the most time it works surprisingly well with even 4 players.
Even when I played Diablo 3 on the PC I thought that the game feel very arcade-ish, and that arcade style works just great with a controller, the controls are simple and easy to use, you can move across the screen very smooth and it feels easy to aim and dodge all the monsters, the controls is another example of brilliance from the console version. It’s of coures harder to aim compared with a keyboard and mouse, but for a player like me who prefer a controller in my hand this is perfect.
You can play the console version offline. I wish this hadn’t been on the list, because it’s crazy that you can’t play offline for the PC version, but it’s still nice that you can do it on the console.
I can play it in my couch
I like my couch.
